Pangbourne is a village and civil parish situated on the banks of the River Thames in Berkshire, England. It features its own array of shops, schools, a railway station on the Great Western main line, and a village hall. Just beyond its developed area lies Pangbourne College, an independent school.

Geographically, Pangbourne is positioned along the A329 road, 6 miles west of Reading and 22 miles southeast of Oxford. It stands opposite the Oxfordshire village of Whitchurch-on-Thames, connected by Whitchurch Bridge and the traversable weir of Whitchurch Lock. The River Pang flows through the heart of Pangbourne village before merging with the Thames between Whitchurch Lock and Whitchurch Bridge. Most of Pangbourne’s developed area sits slightly above the current flood plain of the River Thames, with hay meadows traditionally serving as flood meadows on either side. During the winter storms of 2013–14 in the United Kingdom, fewer than 15 properties in this area experienced flooding.
